The library kids…

Shoutout to my friends, the best test dummies a girl could ever ask for.

For a little background, and because it’s very on brand, we were them kids. The ones who spent lunch breaks in the library, hanging out on the front corner, talking about nothing and everything at the same time. Arguing but then making up on the bus right home, lol love you Burt.

When it came to the style for this piece, I asked a simple but oddly specific question every 30 year old asks; What TV sitcom/Disney/Nickelodeon, fashion era, or general vibe do you like the most?….

Without hesitation, the answer was very clearly 90s and early 2000s. So I ran with it and built from there.

I will always appreciate my friends for letting me draw them. Not just because it is personal, but because it is invaluable practice. Skin tones, facial features, likeness. Every face teaches me something new, and every piece helps me grow.

This artwork was created during a time when I was not sharing my work publicly. It sat quietly, waiting.

Now, I finally feel ready to let it be seen.

If you have ever created something that lived in silence for a while, consider this your sign. Sometimes the work is finished long before we are ready to share it.
